A journey through my mind. Which is sometimes fabulous. Often not.

At max capacity

My brain has been very full lately. Between wedding planning, drafting comparison charts, and learning how Dialog works for this week's school assignment, I've barely had any room in my head to concentrate on WORK during the day. I mean, REAL work. The kind I get paid to do. Last week I had to work on cleaning up some Styles and Periods, which wasn't as simple as it seemed when I got the project; I ended up doing an extensive search on Turkmenistan and the history of the country's origins. And I just don't have the patience or brain capacity for reading the whole encyclopedia and deciding what kind of information is important to retain.

Well anyways, that was last week. This week I'm forcing myself to get back on track: work during my work hours and spend my lunch break doing homework (after quickly stuffing my face).

Today, during a break I found this. I think we will use this song during the processional for our wedding ceremony.

Wedding Song (There is Love)
-Noel Paul Stookey
ca. 1971

He is now to be among you at the calling of your hearts.
Rest assured this troubador is acting on His part.
The union of your spirits here has caused Him to remain,
For whenever two or more of you are gathered in His name,
There is love. There is love.

A man shall leave his mother, and a woman leave her home.
They shall travel on to where the two should be as one.
As it was in the beginning is now and 'til the end,
Woman draws her life from man and gives it back again,
And there is love. There is love.

Well then what's to be the reason for becoming man and wife?
Is it love that brings you here or love that brings you life?
And if loving is the answer, then who's the giving for?
Do you believe in something that you've never seen before?
Oh, there's love. Oh, there’s love.

Oh, the marriage of your spirits here has caused Him to remain,
Or whenever two or more of you are gathered in His name,
There is love. Oh, there’s love.

Some other songs for use during the ceremony:
Eva Cassidy – Songbird
Charlotte Church & Josh Groban – The Prayer
Mercyme – I Can Only Imagine
Twila Paris – How Beautiful

I've also decided what I want to walk down the aisle to, but I'm not divulging that info here. :)

Today is Ditch Day!

Today is a special day. Because it's my annual ditch day! (although technically, I'm not ditching, I'm taking a personal day) It's my birthday!!

Agenda for today:

Go to David's Bridal with my sister and hope I walk out of there with a $99 gown.
DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!!
Dinner with Rick, my sister and her husband.

And, if it's not too late, start on week 2 of my assignments. *sigh* I almost don't want to do school anymore. It was supposed to be #1 priority when I signed up, but ever since the engagement, it has gone down to #2. or even #3. But maybe that's only because week 1's assignments were easy and I finished them in 15 minutes. Hopefully it will make its way back up to the #1 spot. After all, I don't want to be wasting my money for nothing! (this is really just a pep talk to myself... haha)

Now, logging off, and doing some more important things before I need to get ready to leave. Such as playing Guitar Hero. Toodles!!!

And the weeks just keep flying by...

Happy New Year!!!

Oh yeah, new year is over. ;) We're already well into January and it feels like forever since I've posted. I guess holidays just do that to me - sometimes it drags on forever, filled with obligations and activities, and sometimes it all flies by in a blur, filled with obligations and activities. ;)

So I'm typing on my new laptop that I bought before the Black Friday madness during Thanksgiving time. And this font looks different so we'll see how it all comes out.

Wedding plans are in full swing and we've made much headway. Lots of ideas, narrowed down options, and a low budget are keeping me well-grounded and happy. :) Nothing like resources at your fingertips and a billion options to make one's head spin, so having limitations and budget constraints does wonders for my sanity! :) David's Bridal is also having a $99 gown sale which ends next Monday. Is it ever too early to buy your dress?

Today is also the start of my first day of grad school. And I've already finished my homework for the week!!! Yay me. Hopefully (and hopefully not) courses will be this easy and a breeze (but not, so I get my money's worth of challenges).

Coming up: my birthday! I'm going to take the day off and go play with my super-preggie sister who's going to pop in March. I'm going to be an auntie! (and it's a girl)

Even with all these changes and new routines to-be, I'm taking everything in stride and am pretty stress-free (someone told me today that it's called Maturity, HAHA!). Although that doesn't explain the migraine I got this morning... ;) But I'm not freaking out, overwhelmed, or anxious about all these new things that seem to be happening at the same time. I sure am grateful for my life and all that I have, and God must have a wonderful plan for me. :)

I love my fiance.
